how it works

We understand that whether you are seeking help for a loved one or reaching out for your own life-changing support, making that first call can feel vulnerable. The Haven Homes staff understands, and we are here to welcome you right where you are...no matter your fears or concerns. We aim to make the process into Haven Homes as efficient and comfortable as possible.

You simply begin by calling us at 971-412-3222. You are welcome to ask questions on behalf of someone else or for yourself. If you are calling for yourself and you are ready to have a beginning conversation with a HH staff member, just let us know you're interested in applying for residency. We will begin with a confidential phone interview so we can explore your needs.

There is a straightforward application process for those seeking housing. Following your phone interview we will meet with you in person or send you an application along with a copy of our Rental Contract and Residency Contract.

We are supportive, independent living, which means that as a resident of Haven Homes you are responsible for yourself but will be supported by your resident peers and the whole Haven Homes family.

We are not your recovery program but we are the bridge that helps you apply your recovery tools in everyday life. There is power in group-living environments. You are surrounded by others who are fighting the same fight...for sobriety! The Haven Homes family supports one another. Our leadership team will come alongside you and your recovery program directors to provide wrap-around support.

Requirements for move-in:

1.) Minimum 2 weeks of sobriety (this is our standard but there are occasional exceptions)

2.) Committed to a recovery program. “Program of Recovery” includes Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and similar programs

3.) Commitment to Haven Homes Rental Contract and Residency Agreement

4.) Have some form of dependable rent income. This can come from any source as long as it is verifiable. Currently our rooms rent for $675 - $775 and an adult-shared room is $450 pp

5.) Commit to random UA's

Currently, we offer recovery housing only but we expect to add more homes this year! Recovery housing is specifically for people who are in a recovery program* to overcome an addiction to drugs or alcohol. Our status as Recovery Housing* enables us to protect the sober environment of our homes through mandatory weekly house meetings, random UA's, and consistent communication. Each house has a House Lead, chosen by Haven Homes leadership, who reports regularly to the Housing Services Director of Haven Homes.

In the near future, we hope to have housing that meets the needs of those who need less accountability but desire to live in a sober environment, as well as both transitional and affordable, long-term group living homes meeting a variety of needs. No matter who each home is designed to meet the needs of, Haven Homes will always be about healthy, life-changing housing solutions.
